I recently had the opportunity to illustrate and design (yes! even graphically design!) a promotional poster for the Claremont School of Theology Arts Council's 2011 production of The Vagina Monologues.
The images I decided to draw are my brainstorm on femininity—things women use every day, things associated with women, images of women of various races and ages, women's work, women in art(s), milestones in women's lives. And for fun, the color palette is derived from lipstick shades!
If you're in southern California, try to make it to one of the performances! My friend Ruth has been hard at work on the production, so it should prove thought-provoking, celebratory, etc., and proceeds go to two wonderful charities.
