Saltwater Sandals

New work! After a post-graduation spell of inertia peppered with sketchbook drawing and unsatisfactory plein-air landscape watercoloring, I'm setting out to replace the student work in my portfolio. As my primary goal is to land a children's book gig, I'm focusing on painting cute kids!

If I were writing a children's book, I would change the plot, if necessary, to make my main character a girl and to make her interested in digging by the river, just so I could include this.

Thanks Louise! I'm glad too. Mike: this blog came from everyone telling me I need to have a blog, me finally giving in and starting it much later than I should have, then not using it properly for the first 6 months, i.e. not posting or telling people about it, and now finally deciding to update regularly because a famous illustrator told me I need to. DIMA! That is one of the nicest things anyone has said about my art! Thank you!
